Who doesn't love a massage? After all there's nothing quite like that feeling you get when every bit of tension flows out of your body, and you're more relaxed than you ever thought possible. But, besides making you feel fabulous, massage also offers many therapeutic benefits. It relieves stress, and at the same time, improves circulation, reduces inflammation, strengthens the immune system, promotes flexibility and range of motion, and can speed recovery from injury, to name just a few benefits--and that's a good start.

For Toby Cederbaum, owner of The Healing Touch and a Certified Massage Therapist with over 20 years of experience, the goal is to provide a nuturing, healing, and relaxing experience for those seeking to de-stress. This massage therapist offers a variety of massages combined with a number of healing arts: Deep Tissue and Swedish Massage, Shiatsu, Sports Massage, Prenatal and Postnatal Massage, Geriatric Massage, as well as Hot Lava Rock Massage, Reflexology and Reiki (she holds first and second degrees Certification).

And her clients are not always of the human variety; if your pooch needs pampering, bring him in; she does Pet Massage too. All her clients she says, human and animal, sense the relaxing aura of her studio the moment they set foot in the door. "It's a wonderful environment," she suggests. "I have a heated table, beautiful, soothing, and inspiring music, and aromatherapy oils diffusing into the air. People walk in and say "Wow", I can feel the energy in here'."

Overall, this therapist's goal is to focus on each individual's unique psychological and physiological needs in order to help them gain freedom from stress. That, she says, will lead to increased energy, revitalization and balance, and the capability to maintain general health and well-being.

Also she is able to help people with a range of health challenges including sport's injuries, back problems, headaches, autoimmune and energy issues, neuropathy, and Cederbaum says she sees many wonderful and amazing results emerge from her work. And above all, she enjoys awakening client's to the wisdom within their own bodies. "Im always amazed at how much our bodies know." she suggests. "The instincts arethere, if we can just begin to listen."

For this healer, massage therapy is truly a calling. "I feel very strongly that I did not find massage--massage found me," she says. In fact, she was "led" toward her career in an effort to help family memebers who were ill. "I was trying to find ways to heal them," she recalls. "Massage was one of the things I used--and had extraordinary experiences with it." For Cederbaum, Massage Therapy is the most rewarding work she can imagine doing. She adds, "I'm very grateful for it."
